Kimie Maeda was born in 1972 in Nagano. She is a part-time lecturer of University of Tokyo, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Osaka University. She translates poems by Ahmad Shamlu[1925-2000], who is called national poet of 20th centry Iran, in Mi’Te. Maeda is one of the translators of Anthology of Modern Persian Poetry, Tokyo:Doyoubijutsusha-shuppan, 2009 and Utsusemi, Persian Translation of Japanese Haiku anthology, was published in Iran with subsidies from Japan Foundation and Suntory Foundation. She also translated modern Persian short nobels as Aftab-Maftab by Shiva Arastui[1962-](Monthly literary magagine, Subaru, 2008.12) and some works of Hushang Golshiri[1938-2000](Journal of Iranian Studies, Osaka University, 2008-)
